When do I know Christmas is only a few weeks away? The annual Christmas tree lot appears on the busiest corner in town. As a child, selecting the family tree was an adventure through a miniature forest of pine, fir, and cedar. I loved the woodsy smell the tree brought inside our house from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. Over the years our decorations remained the same childhood favorites, and I found a box of them while organizing my garage museum this summer. Strings of large candle flame-shaped bulbs in multiple colors might be out of style nowadays, but they sure bring back precious memories of great times with my family.
