I’ve written about the season’s falling leaves, pumpkins, and festivals the last two weeks, but folks in the south love Fall for another reason—football. I’m talking the all-American game where the players wear helmets and the fans cheer for touchdowns, as in Friday night lights and Saturday tailgates. My favorite football stadium fills to the brim tomorrow with a hundred-thousand-plus screaming fans dressed in orange and white. To add even more school spirit, each section will alternate wearing the two colors and create a checkerboard, just like the painted endzones every game. It’s party time, people!
