A Handful of Clouds

What’s for dinner on this Southern-fried Friday? Beef? If my husband had his way, we’d eat beef or bacon every meal. And I can’t complain too much. If I had my way, we’d have dessert before every meal. The truth is we’re not all alike or see things the same way. For instance, what’s the first thing you see in the picture below? A green field, brewing storm, sunset, or sunrise? A dozen folks could give a dozen different answers.

Call me full of chocolate ice cream, but I see the hand of God stretched out in the fingers of the clouds. The writer of Psalm 104 described it perfectly. “God, my God, how great you are! Beautifully, gloriously robed, dressed up in sunshine, and all heaven stretched out for your tent. You built your palace on the ocean deeps, made a chariot out of clouds and took off on wind-wings . . .You set earth on a firm foundation so that nothing can shake it, ever . . . What a wildly wonderful world, God! You made it all . . . made earth overflow with your wonderful creations.” Amazing how a few clouds stir up the imagination. Amazing how the psalmist had beef on the mind too. Verse 14 says, “He [God] makes grass grow for the cattle . . .” By the way, I have Travis and Whitney Tilley of Tilley Farms and their cattle to thank for this picture. Check out their awesome photos and videos for down home life and laughter.

Now it’s your turn. What’s your favorite meat? My husband votes for grilled filet mignon.
