One of my favorite winter snacks is chocolate. But I can say the same for spring, summer, and fall. As an unrepentant chocoholic, I consider it the most diverse food group. If you’re cold, drink hot chocolate. If you’re hot, a scoop of chocolate ice cream cools you down. For the in-between times, I reach for cookies or a few chocolate chips. Yes, I’m admitting to a considerable fondness for a certain brand of 60% cacao chocolate chips. Originally bought as an ingredient for my homemade granola bars, I quickly decided they were just as enjoyable by themselves. Like my mother always said, “An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but chocolate tastes better.”
