This time of year brings us the College World Series, men’s baseball and women’s softball. While my favorite teams didn’t make it to the finals in Omaha (men’s) or Oklahoma City (women’s), I enjoy watching the teams who did. As with any collegiate sport, the unpredictable is always possible, and these two sports score high on the volatility meter. Many times the overall best team in the country doesn’t win, for example this year. Yes, I admit to being biased for verifiable reasons. But major upsets are part of collegiate sports history and craziness, think basketball and March Madness.
