Way Far South

Want to go way far south with me on this Southern-Fried Friday? I’m taking a trip to the wild and unpredictable Australia Outback by reading David Rawlings’ new fiction novel Where the Road Bends. With many of our travel plans on hold, I recommend exploring an incredible place through the words of an Australian author who paints a page with characters and scenery like a skilled portrait artist. Through his story you’ll experience the adventures of four high school friends meeting fifteen years after graduation for a trek into the Outback. When a storm devastates the area, their struggle to survive reveals who they’ve become is not who they want to be. Will any of them have the courage to chart a new course in life? Read the book and find out.

Earlier this year I read David’s award-winning debut novel The Baggage Handler and became an instant fan of a story as fascinating as Where the Road Bends. Discovering David and I had mutual writer friends blessed me even more. While the land down under is too far south for most of us at the moment, read David’s books and enjoy the journeys they offer (davidrawlings.com.au). Psalm 119:33 describes one of them, “I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”
