We All Scream for Ice Cream

Do you like ice cream? I do, and recently I added gelato to my list of frozen favorites. No need to guess my flavor choice—it’s chocolate, of course. Toss in chocolate chips, a dollop of hot fudge, a handful of chopped nuts, and you have one great dessert. Food choices come easy for me. Chocolate first, vegetables second. I figure as long as I eat more vegetables than chocolate, the order shouldn’t matter. Good gravy, if other life choices were this easy, the world would be one giant ice cream shop.

But it’s not, and thank goodness we have help if we want it. Take a look at this wise man’s advice in Proverbs 3. “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.” Hmm, sounds like the perfect all natural stress reliever to me. Give your worries to God and trust Him to keep you on the right path. Hey, let’s celebrate this wise decision with an ice cream. Two scoops of dark chocolate, a dollop of hot fudge, a handful of chopped nuts . . .

Your turn on this most Southern-fried Friday, what’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
