College sports and old movies dominate my television viewing in recent years. With the Turner Classics station showing Oscar winners this month, I’ve seen many golden oldies lately. Love stories, mysteries, war sagas, comedies, and musicals—I like them all if they’re well done. Everything from Some Like it Hot to Tootsie, The King and I to Driving Miss Daisy, and Rebecca to Sense and Sensibility will make me sit a spell and enjoy the award-winning performances of years gone by.
